Although I’m just a high school student and not a professional…my great grandfather was a Royal Physician (the King’s doctor) in Vietnam and was a great influence on this project. I plan on following his footsteps to study health care and medical. The idea for Dawnmir.com was inspired by a cousin who had amblyopia, commonly known as lazy eye, in which his parents discovered when he was seven years old. It was unfortunately discovered too late and caused him to go blind in one eye. On my mother’s side of the family, the second generation is affected by this eye condition. This eye condition affected me as well and because of it, I had to cover one eye when I was younger. However, my parents found out about this issue a little late, so I still have a slight lazy eye til this day.
Amblyopia is a developmental abnormality that can permanently impair a child’s vision. As a result, it is critical to detect this problem early to prevent permanent vision loss. Dawnmir.com is not intended to help anyone truly detect amblyopia, it is designed to assist parents detect indications and symptoms that can lead to amblyopia and promptly take their children to see a doctor.
